Another One Bites the Dust!!

Another milestone, that is! :-)

Just got back from my final weigh-in for the week at SlimGenics and I was down another 1.25 lbs from Thursday, putting my total weight loss at 71 pounds!! WOOHOO!

Another thing that feels REALLY good is having a "2" in front of the number of my remaining weight loss. Having 28.5 lbs to go isn't much less than 30, but it sure feels nice to have 20-something lbs to go and not 30-something lbs to go!! :-D

So now the prayer is that the vacation eating really did jump start the loss and it keeps going!

Vacation Weight? What Vacation Weight?

Did I say that I gained weight on vacation? Really? Cause it's been less than a week since I've been back and IT'S ALL GONE!! ;-)

Went to my SlimGenics center today for my second weigh-in since returning and the 1.25 lbs that I had gained was gone, PLUS another .25 lbs!! My goal of hitting 70 lbs this week is very real now, because today showed me at 69.75 lbs!! I only need to lose .25 lbs by Saturday to hit my 70 lb milestone. Woohoo!

I know I've already said it, but it's so worth repeating. I REALLY feel confident, for the first time, that I'll be able to maintain this weight loss. I mean, let's be real. I knew I could lose weight; I've done it before (though I've never had so much to lose, but still). It was the KEEPING IT OFF that drove me to spend the money with SlimGenics. Clearly it has been money well spent.

I don't want to spend the rest of my life yo-yo dieting. I'm DONE with feeling overweight and unhealthy. I'm done with getting upset when something I want to wear isn't flattering or just doesn't fit at all!

I don't want my 2-yr old son to be frustrated because I don't have the energy to play with him. I don't want him to realize his mommy is really fat! I don't want to be too tired to play at the park with him and not just watch him play!

And now, I don't think I have to!! If I can go on vacation and eat the way I did last week and show a 9 POUND gain on the scale, only to erase it in less than a week, I am confident I'll be able to nip any small gains that will creep up from eating normally and do it quickly. Now that I have the tools to do it, I just know I'll have to stay on top of it and I won't ever again have to diet for 6 months, a year, whatever! Buckle down for a week, get rid of it, go back to life!! :-)

So yeah, I'm happy today. :-)

Finally! Official Vacation Report!

So I finally got to SlimGenics today for my first weigh-in in almost 2 weeks!

The verdict? Up only 1.25 lbs! Woo-hoo!

I am more than happy with that after a week of eating off plan. And it wasn't just that I ate meals off-plan, but it was all the snacking (chips, pistachio nuts, etc.) that made it truly "vacation eating" and not just off-plan eating.

I have far more confidence now that I'll be able to maintain once I hit my goal. If I find myself backsliding a little, I now have the tools to quickly eradicate it and go on with life!

So that puts me back to an official loss of 68.25 lbs. Think I can still hit 70 lbs this week? That's my goal! :-)

Snowed In... AGAIN!!

Good morning and happy Monday everyone!

I was going to go weigh in today at SlimGenics for the first time in a week and a half, but I'm thinking of staying put, since we just got another foot of snow and it's still snowing out there. It's the only place I planned on going today, so I guess I'm going to skip it and just go on my lunch break tomorrow.

However, I can report on my scale even if I can't get my official weigh-in. In just two days, I turned my 9 lb vacation weight gain into just 3.4 lbs! Yay! Go ACV! (I did manage another dose at lunch yesterday, but I was DONE after that and skipped it with dinner. I just couldn't stomach even one more shot!)

Also, I actually think the SG scale will show less gain than me, because I lost for a couple days before leaving for vacation (left on Friday, but weighed in for the last time the Wednesday before). I think I was down about 1 lb in that time, so they may only show a gain of a couple pounds.

In the end, I do have to lose a few lbs over again, but I would absolutely do it again. I had a great time on vacation and I fully believe we all need it from time to time.

Ok, time to really buckle down and lose the rest before summer is fully here!!

For my Minnesota friends: enjoy the snow day! :-)

Apple Cider Vinegar Day 1 Report

Just a quick report on yesterday. Stayed on plan all day with no problems whatsoever - it still surprises me that since I started SlimGenics I can easily get back on plan after being off for a few days. I've never really experienced that before; I've always found excuses for staying off plan longer than necessary, i.e. "I'll just restart Monday...".

At any rate, I also did my three shots of 2 tbsp of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar (ACV) yesterday (one with each meal). I have done one so far this morning with breakfast, but I honestly don't know if I can take two more today. It's just GROSS! Haha!!

That being said, I got on the scale this morning to the tune of 4 lbs less than yesterday morning! Woohoo! Just up 5 lbs now since the morning we left for Austin, so we'll see if I can stomach two more ACV doses today and what tomorrow will bring. I can't imagine I have too much water weight left to shed, so one more day should be enough to get a good gauge of how much actual weight I truly gained. I may also drink some of the SlimGenics cleansing tea tonight, just for extra measure. ;-)

Have a great Sunday everyone! Are you ready for our second Snowmaggedon of the 2010-2011 winter season?!

Apple Cider Vinegar Here I Come!

Ok, so it's been awhile. I've been enjoying some fabulous Austin, TX weather (75-80) for the past week and even better food!

My plan was to do the same thing while on vacation that I did for Christmas. Go off plan and enjoy the foods I wanted to, but in moderation. Overall, I think I did an ok job of that, but not great.

I also started off eating my snacks and taking my supplements, but I didn't keep up with that very long, because I just didn't want to spend the money when I wasn't on plan to take those spendy pills, etc. So, I saved them and just didn't worry about it for the week.

I got on the scale this morning and was up a whopping 9 lbs! WHOA!! Of course, I KNOW a lot of this is water weight, so I've been hitting the apple cider vinegar hard today. YUCK!!! But, I know it's working, because I'm in the bathroom like every 10 minutes. This also tells me that I am in indeed retaining a lot of water.

My hope is that I really only gained around 3 lbs, with 6 lbs being water. We shall see on Monday morning after 2 days of the apple cider vinegar 3 times daily. Did I say YUCK yet? ;-)

We got back home late last night (around 10:00 pm or so), but I jumped right back on plan first thing this morning. Summer is coming soon, after all and I still have a long way to go before I feel comfortable that I look good in shorts and a tank top!

Of course, with a Winter Storm Warning threatening another FOOT of snow tomorrow, I don't have to worry about that quite yet. Welcome back to Minnesota! Ha!

I'll check back on Monday with the report of the real weight gain for the vacation after shedding water over the weekend.

No matter what, I had a GREAT time on vacation with my family and it was totally worth it. I would absolutely do it again!! :-)

S....l....o....w.... Goes It!

Well, it looks like my days of the weight just melting off at a rate of 3 – 3 ½ lbs a week are probably about over. I finished the plateau-breaker over a week ago and it's still just barely coming off. When I weighed in on Wednesday (yesterday), I was only down .75 lbs on the week. Tomorrow will show the final weekly total, which I'm hoping will be at least 1 lb at this rate! Ha!

I'm not completely surprised, to be honest, because we're now getting into the weight that's been there since the late 90's. Weight that's been there for 10+ years, apparently, won't go quietly. That's fine, it can fight back, but I'll win in the end!!!

However, a little bonus! When I went in on Wednesday, they concluded that my body really responds well to protein and since I was starting to feel hunger (which I really didn't previously), they think the plateau-breaker actually did its job and kicked my metabolism up a notch, but that my body was holding on tight because I wasn't eating enough (hence the hunger). So, they added a 3rd thermo-snack into my day without removing anything else! Woo-hoo! I LOVE the snacks, so this rocks!

I just started this today, so we probably won't see anything conclusive for a few days, but I'm hopeful. To be honest, I'm still happy to see the scale going the right direction. I mean, I've lost about 70 lbs in ONLY 5 months! That's INSANE and I'm wicked happy!! It may take another 5 months to get the remaining weight off, though I don't think so. I'm hoping for 3. That will put me at a very happy place for this summer!! :-)

So, I'm going to just keep on keeping on, because that's all I can do!
